“Where I’d Rather Be” is a lively, powerful, yet dynamic song that showcases Sharp Class’s signature sound of chiming guitars, tight production and melodic tendencies. Opening up with a restrained rhythmic pulse that supports Oliver’s sincere recital. “My mind, it ticks more than anyone would guess,” he sings. “Going over like clockwork, it won’t rest.” Then, the trio kick the door wide open, erupting into life with a massive chorus worthy of such a single. You’ll find yourself singing, “My own little world is where I’d rather be.”

This is the first new music from Sharp Class since their 2022 debut album “Tales Of A Teenage Mind” and the first taste of what’s to come from their forthcoming second album.

Written & mixed by Oliver Orton, and performed by Sharp Class, the single was recorded at Electric Bear Studios (The Stranglers, Ferocious Dog) and mastered by John Paul Braddock at Formation Audio (The Cramps, Simple Minds, The Action).

“This song is an honest representation of how I feel about society on, more often than not, a daily basis.” Says Oliver. “All of us are buzzing with how it sounds. We’ve had the chance to perform it live quite a few times, and it’s always gone down well.” Oliver goes on to say that “Our new songs are like the lovechild of power-pop and punk. Like The Who meets The Clash.”
